GENS IULIA
Introduction to the Julians
The Julians (Iulians*) were a gens, or a patrician family, from Ancient Rome. Some famous Julians include Julius Caesar, Augustus, and Tiberius.
One of their many accomplishments was starting and upholding the Pax Romana, and being part of the Julio-Claudian Dynasty.
*Apart from "gens Iulia", I will spell "Julian" with a 'j' for the simplicity

PAX ROMANA
A Summary
The Pax Romana (which translated is “Roman Peace”) was an era of peace and strength in the empire. It lasted for over 200 years, beginning with Augustus and ending somewhere during Emperor Commodus’ reign. Augustus’ goal was to bring stability and security to Roman empire, which the Roman people really appreciated. The succeeding emperors maintained a reduction of conflict, and expanded the borders. Unfortunatly, the Pax Romana ended up coming to a close due to sicknesses and invasions.

JULIO-CLAUDIAN DYNASTY
A Summary
The Julio-Claudian Dynasty consisted of the first five emperors of Rome - Augustus, Tiberius, Caligula, Claudius, and Nero. It spanned from 14 to 68 C.E. Tiberius, while believed to be one of the most intelligent of the line, ended up becoming an imensely unpopular ruler. His succesor, Caligula, was known for his insanity, and ended up being assassined after a 4 year reign. Claudius - the next emperor - had been underestimated due to personal disabilities. However, his reign postively altered Rome as Augustus had first intended it to be. The line ended with Nero, a Hellenic-loving madman, due to rebellion and civil war.
